Do you find yourself unmotivated to exercise? Does the thought of going to the gym on your own or walking to the park make you cringe? Maybe it’s time to get yourself an exercise buddy.

Whether you prefer team sports or solo sports, keeping fit is a lot more fun if you can find a buddy to keep you company. A little healthy competition can act as a powerful motivator! And its a lot harder to cancel your plans to exercise when you’ve made a promise to someone else!

So how can you find yourself an exercise buddy?

1) Motivate your family. 😉
Ask your family, house mates, partner / spouse to join you at the gym, on a walk, playing tennis or swimming at the local pool. If all else fails, a dog makes a wonderful exercise buddy!

2) Ask your friends.
Recently I noted a friend of mine had ‘advertised’ for a gym buddy in a face book status update. What a great idea! It’s highly likely that someone you already know wants to get fit / stay fit just as much as you do. So why not put the word out there and start working out together?

Today I went walking with a new exercise buddy of mine and it was the highlight of my day! 🙂
