If you don’t love yourself, you cannot love others. You will not be able to love others. If you have no compassion for yourself then you are not able of developing compassion for others.
Love offered from a place of true compassion is not personal; it is a transpersonal, non-dual quality that emanates from the depth’s of one’s being. The spiritually-awakened heart practices unconditional compassion which expresses exactly as it needs to—tough love at times, soothing, comforting love at others. But love is always the view, the motive, the practice.
