Stars This Week ~ April 16 – 22, 2012

Start Something New!

This is a week of new beginnings and fresh starts. First, you’ll have plenty of new ideas and exciting conversations as Mercury, the planet of communication, enters impulsive Aries on April 16 before conjuncting independent Uranus on April 22. Luckily, the Sun enters stable Taurus on April 19, a transit that will help keep your feet on the ground. Then, a new Moon in Taurus on April 21 helps bring your ideas back to earth as well so you can create a solid, workable plan.

April 16: Mercury enters Aries
April 22: Mercury conjuncts Uranus
Your mind will be buzzing … and it may be difficult to decide which one of your ideas to pursue first! Make sure you record them for future reference when things slow down once Mercury enters Taurus in May. Interesting people have plenty to say now, so be sure to pay close attention and mine any gems you come across. And since you’ll likely have a few exciting ideas of your own, make sure people know about them. If so, you’ll make progress!

April 19: The Sun enters Taurus
As the Sun travels through practical Taurus, get your financial ducks in a row, put your money in a safe place and determine how you can best improve your security. Whether you make a plan to save for your kids’ college expenses or create a sensible plan for retirement, this is the time to take stock of where you are and what you want. Determination, loyalty and stubbornness are Taurus characteristics you can put to good use now.

April 21: New Moon in Taurus
New Moons mark fresh beginnings, and in earthy Taurus — the sign that rules values and money, as well as your material life in general — it’s time to be sensible and conservative in terms of how you build and maintain a comfortable and secure life. Fortunately, this transit brings inspiration and positive energy as Neptune sextiles the new Moon, and Mars in Virgo trines the new Moon. In addition, Pluto’s trine to this new Moon demonstrates that people in powerful positions are ready to help you. Make the most of these opportunities!
